Intro
In the three years since its debut, we have found this to be the ideal choice for light touring. Since last season it has also been available in the XT and GT models: lightweight boots that are less race oriented. The F1 LT stands out from the other models in the expanded range as an ultra-light boot, with mechanisms that encourage a slick, fast, pared-down approach.
Walking
Precise and steady, with a fairly average range of movement: there is better out there, but do you really need it outside of a race? The forward flexion is more generous than needed. The cuff rotation to the rear is more limited than its competitors, but still more than adequate. It is also stiffer in movement than other models, but this should be seen as supporting the work of the foot, not as a downside. You can feel the same support on the diagonal.
Lab
Entry and exit are proportionate to the technical volume; the backward rotation of the cuff helps to avoid any problems. The closure system is immediately easy to use, even out on the mountain while wearing thick gloves. The fit is snug and precise, even for narrow feet: a feature worth mentioning. If you decide to size up... you've chosen the wrong boot.
Skiing
This boot satisfies even the most powerful skiers. Most leave the two straps slack: even without closing everything, you can immediately find the right amount of smooth, progressive flex. The foam of the intuition liner is very firm and decidedly technical. Built for demanding skiers, it's still comfortable enough for the cool kids. This is a lively, reactive boot. It transmits power to the edge at lightning speed and can accommodate sitting back where necessary. Fresh out of the box, the forward lean (the middle of the three settings) was a little too upright for almost all testers: you'll probably use the furthest forward as well as the optional Velcro pad provided for the liner. On bindings with a low drop (around 15 mm, 27 mp), some might feel the need for a little more height under the heel (between 1 and 3 mm more).
