Intro
We love introducing new skis to the category that might stir the pot. New to the Light category comes a ski which has a traditional style influenced by the alpine racing scene. The Augment Tour Carbon 82 feels like a groomer ski that can handle a little vertical. Pair it with a stiffer boot to maximize its potential. The Augment is a robust ski that holds up well for a long lifetime of ski touring compared to many other light skis. The Carbon 82 is suitable for most skiers, but an intermediate would benefit greatly from this ski. The shape and construction allow you to play with medium radius turns, while forgiving the occasional slip up.
On the snow
Depending on the skier, this ski offers solid performance or can prove challenging. Beginner to intermediate users will take some time to get used to it, but for intermediate to advanced skiers, it’s forgiving and fun. Don't be confused by the name; yes, there is carbon in it, but compared to the Blacklight from Dynafit, the performance is much different. On the heavier side of the Light category with a 171 weighing in at 1250 g, it can be a little challenging to drive at first, but once you get to know it, it’s a lot of fun. One big plus is the torsional stability; this ski really allows a heavier skier to feel in control when moving from edge to edge.
