Intro
The heaviest of the Dynafit speed bindings (in the + version with brake), it's actually built like a classic touring binding, using sturdy structural components made from synthetic high-tech materials, forged aluminum and steel. It has adjustable lateral release settings (versions 5-10 and 6-12), while the forward release is configured by the choice of the U-Spring mounted at the moment of purchase. Without the beefy, alpine-style brake mechanism, it passes directly into the light category.
Fit
The lever is nice and robust as we have come to expect from Dynafit. Same goes for the rotation of the heel tower that requires a little force. Entry into the toe piece isn't aided by anything but is intuitive nonetheless, if easier with Dynafit inserts, while the half-moon ends of the U-Spring in the heel piece (like the one used in the DNA) aid entry more than round ends. To use the climbing aids rotate the tower 180° and use the support on the heel unit or the large flap. The semi-automatic brake uses a large spring and can be locked and unlocked by rotating the tower.
