Intro
A completely new line from Scott, including one 100 mm for men, and a 90 mm for women, made to be versatile and fun, suitable both for touring and freeride. They feature sustainable construction made from more than 50% recyclable materials, and use natural flax fiber for flexibility, paired with poplar for greater responsiveness. There's some titanal underfoot and no carbon, which is unusual in this category, but the weight is nonetheless in line with its competitors. With its square tip, long, high rocker and short turn radius, it's a very manageable ski.
On the snow
Don't be fooled by the name Pure, a callback to the freeride line designed and developed by Jérémie Heitz. This is Scott's most approachable ski, easy to ride even at very slow speeds, and it may be the brand's first ski to be suited to such a wide range of skiers. It instantly feels right; initiating turns is extremely intuitive thanks to its high-rise rocker and short turn radius. It's nice and responsive when releasing the turn, with no oversteer, and instills confidence, especially in skiers who lack a little technique and strength. Perfection isn't required to turn it and it's happy to slowly cruise along. If you're using the lifts, we recommend getting a longer size, for extra stability. In ascent it behaves much the same as in descent, in that it's not made for extremes, but on the whole holds up pretty well.
