Intro
Peso allineato alla concorrenza, molto comodo nei volumi, abbastanza immediato nella chiusura ganci e facile nel passaggio da walk a ski. the Cosmos Pro is unchanged in terms of style and substance. No bells and whistles, just what you need, where you need it. Definitely one of the most on-the-money boots out there for the wider public. It has a cabrio construction, much beloved of classic tourers, and you can change the screws at home with a screwdriver and an Allen key.
Walking
There is some friction between the shell, cuff and tongue, that restricts the cuff rotation compared to others in the same category, which is a shame as otherwise the range of movement would be excellent. It nonetheless lets you take on lots of elevation gain while keeping your feet warm and comfortable. Da accoppiare a uno sci tra i 95 e 100 mm per un set-up unico inverno-primavera e divertimento dislivello. The Vibram sole works well both for skinning and climbing/scrambling.
Lab
La calzata è estremamente facile, il piede scivola nello scafo senza la minima resistenza e la sensazione è di grande comfort. Most of the merit belongs to the liner, which is very supportive and nicely made down to the last detail—definitely one of the best tested. The buckles on the other hand are rather unwieldy, hard to operate and even painful without gloves on. The ski/walk mechanism just flips down and is quick and easy to use.
Skiing
It's supportive when initiating a turn, then tends to collapse, especially when exiting. The rebound force is very quick, which is something you need to learn to manage. Though you need strong legs to compensate for the bulging and help the plastics, it's not a boot for heavy or very powerful skiers. The rearward support is reasonably good, helping to recover from the wrong stance at the end of a turn. It's tight around the forefoot for sensitivity, but a little too wide underneath, which causes a lack of precision on the downhill, especially if the terrain gets hard and you need firm edge hold. The best thing about this boot is how comfortable it is, you can spend a day on the snow and almost forget you're wearing it; perfect for long missions or anyone working on the mountain.
