Intro
As the only TÜV-certified full pin binding (even its twin the 14 isn't), thanks to its pivoting toe piece, it stands apart from other AT bindings. It's a great all-rounder that instills a feeling of safety, starting with the three-tooth brake arms that look like crampons. Take into account that all this comes with a little extra weight, in line with some hybrid models.
Fit
The lever, though not particularly long, is wide enough to make it easy to operate with gloves on. It's also easy to open using a pole, thanks to the angle and wide base. Aligning the pins is easy, thanks to the toe-stop that prevents you from overshooting. To lock out the brake in ascent you need to rotate the tower 90° and push it down, something that takes a little strength and practice. As well as flat mode there are two climbing positions with flaps that are easily adjustable with pole baskets. The ramp angle is higher than average for modern bindings, better for long feet and classic skiers. Its robustness and safety features make it suitable beyond touring.
