Intro
The toe is new for the 24/25 season; it’s very similar to their other new release, the Ridge, but without the titanium end stop, and a more traditional turret heel piece. The + version comes with a brake as standard. It’s designed to be a reasonably light all-round touring binding with a suite of features to simplify life for traditional tourers: the heel riser flaps and large toe lever can both be operated with a pole, meaning you don’t need to bend down. Ski crampons can also be inserted from above and the jaws housing the pins feature two spacers machined from a single piece of metal that ensure perfect boot-pin alignment.
Fit
In ski mode, the boot sits fairly high with respect to the top of the ski, but drop is minimal because the fairly high heel pins are matched to a correspondingly above-average height of the toe pins. On the mountain, this binding is an ideal candidate for the less experienced tourer as it offers numerous setup options in hike mode, which are easy to use, thanks to ease with which the heel turret can be turned. If you're looking for something to use at resorts as well, you'll find the raised height of the boot above the ski, combined with the highly effective ski brake, make this an ideal candidate.
