Intro
Simple, practical, good value for money. These are the strengths of the Marker full-pin binding, alongside a ramp angle so low it's practically zero, which makes the difference in descent, especially for small feet. There are also some original features, like anti-ice pads under the toe piece, as well as nice details like the active length compensation in the heel. The wings are die cast and the base of the heel piece is made from carbon-loaded plastic. The brake is sold separately, the only optional extra, in keeping with the practical ethos.
Fit
Toe pin entry is easy, even more so if you attach one at a time. That said, it's all very intuitive and rear entry is also easy, the shape of the large lever is easy to grasp with gloves on, and the rotation of the heel tower is not too stiff. There are two climbing aids as well as flat mode. The flap flips directly onto the pins, and by rotating the tower it raises a little higher. The first position works well with light boots, the second is better for boots with less range of motion. The brake, if added, is easy to lock and unlock in two simple moves.
