Intro
Part of the Tour All mountain line from the Austrian ski maker, which comes in widths of 84, 89 and 92 mm. The Lite is obviously lighter than the Core Carbon (by around 100 g), trimming weight through the use of two types of wood in the core (carob and poplar), combined with carbon laminate in both models.
On the snow
For a few seasons now this ski has been something of a pleasant surprise. It keeps ski instructors and mountain guides, as well as their clients, happy. Its 89 mm width (very of the moment), combined with the 170 cm length of the test ski, has become a classic combination in this segment. The result? A lightweight ski that, despite the use of light wood and carbon fiber, is smooth, predictable, fun and easy to handle. Reassuring and balanced for those who are, shall we say, less technically skilled. Neutral where necessary, like changeable snow conditions or for gliding over crust as effortlessly as possible, it can be lively when you floor it, but isn't tiring. It will stay with you if you sit back and is smooth on skidded turns. It loves deep powder, is stable and controlled (on the stiffer end of the scale) when the going gets tough, initiates and releases turns effortlessly, varying speed and turn width; in other words it's a solid all-rounder. What else could you ask for?
Lab
Concave along the length of the ski, very pronounced at the tip and tail. Structure applied, no wax. Reasonably good edges 1.5 x 1.5 mm at 90°, base edge 1.5°. Edges still slightly too sharp at the tip and tail, even though they have been detuned a little. Needs waxing and tuning.
