    Intro
Ripstick Tour is Elan's core line for ski mountaineering, positioned between the lightweight Lynx and the Ripstick freeride skis. The tour version adopts some of the same philosophy of the freeride at a weight more suited to traditional touring. Alongside this 88, there are also 94 and 104 widths. The ski's construction maximizes skiability and structure and includes carbon-fiber reinforcement. The left and right skis have an asymmetrical shape.

    On the snow
A fun ski for intermediate to expert skiers. Playful is the right word for a ski designed with the overall experience in mind, more so than being lightweight. A versatile ski that can go easily from fresh snow, where it floats well with its generous base, to chop, which it plows through no problem. Even on hard terrain and groomers it's construction shines through. It flexes and follows the terrain well. It handles well and changes curve radius easily. It gives back all that it takes, so it calls for a bit of experience. You need to stay on top of it just enough, but it'll go with you when you lose a touch of focus and won't give you a hard time. The asymmetrical design of the two skis facilitates edge changes. The wide, flat tips take a bit of adjustment, especially on groomers and hard terrain, where they can tend to knock against each other when using an old-school technique.

    Lab
Slightly convex at tip and tail that wasn't entirely fixed after 10 tuning runs, good flatness on the whole. Fine linear pattern, not much wax. Good edges, 1.5 x 1.7 mm at 89°, base edge 1.3°. Too much edge at tip and tail, just need to remove a bit and you're ready to go.
