Intro
With their Women2Women project, Blizzard has, for a few years now, been working to produce skis designed specifically to meet the needs of women. And so Sheeva was born (or, better, reborn). This line is dedicated to fun and to confident women who aren't afraid to lead the way down an untouched slope. The skis feature a mixed poplar, Paulownia and beech construction, the different wood types purposefully positioned to give flex and stiffness in all the right places. The wood is then paired with fiberglass under the bindings.
On the snow
Flowy is the perfect way to describe the Sheeva 9. It's a playful ski that's easy to handle on good snow, in powder, and on groomers. It'll give you an amazing ride on those days you don't want to think about anything but skiing. It does call for a bit of thought, though, on hard, technical terrain and in challenging snow conditions. So it'll take a few runs to fully understand this ski. Lighter than the 2023 model, you need to keep your composure over the center of the ski to fully appreciate its qualities. It's excellent entering and leaving the turn, but when you push the edges to the limit, it tends to vibrate and lose contact with the snow, especially at the tips. A ski for more moderate speeds and giant slalom turns, it's perfect for women coming from groomers and looking to take a more conservative approach to backcountry.
Lab
Slightly concave at the tip, completely resolved after 10 runs through our machine. No structure, not much wax; good edges, 1.5 x 1.7 mm at 88°, base edge 1°. Edge removed at tip and tail; finish generally decent, better than we've come to expect from the brand over the years.
