Intro
The new Radical line is Dynafit's interpretation of a modern touring ski. The distinctive trait of all three models is the long, progressive tip and tail rocker, which isn't too high, and the traditional camber underfoot for limited edge contact with the terrain. It features a fairly traditional construction, with poplar wood and carbon fiber paired with straight sidewalls for solidity and reliability. The ski includes race skin connectors, but you can also use a universal connector just fine.
On the snow
This ski really needs very little space and very little effort to turn. It has a soft, smooth flex for no surprises throughout the turn, so long as you're not going too fast. It has substance underfoot, so you'd be tempted to push on the gas, but then the tip and tail rocker will start to slap the snow and force you slow back down. It works well on soft snow in both winter and spring, and it's so easy to ski that even a beginner would feel confident and in control between the trees and whenever there's not much space to maneuver. On hard terrain or in chop, you can still get down the mountain, so long as you keep a central posture and ski under control, since the lack of edge grip is of little help. Dynafit's experience comes out on the ascent, where the ski is easy and balanced in all situations.
