Intro
This ski has a very balanced shape, with a nicely progressive tip and classic camber underfoot. It has a lightweight, carob-wood construction with carbon-fiber reinforcement and, like the rest of the MTN series, is made from 40% recyclable materials. It's part of the new wave of skis designed to be light on the uphill, but wide and stiff enough to make the most of the downhill.
On the snow
Definitely one of the most versatile skis tested, it's hard to find any real defects or imagine a skier who wouldn't like this ski. It's very balanced and predictable in how it rides, and if you're soft and gradual in your movements, it helps out a lot in all snow conditions. The tip and waist are nicely responsive for such a lightweight ski, even on packed snow. It does tend to oversteer a bit at the end of the turn, like many skis in its class, but that's something you quickly learn to manage. It's not a ski for high speeds, fast lines, or ultra-technical terrain, but it works well in everything else. A shorter length is super manageable and lightweight for the ascent, perfect for newcomers to skimo. If you're looking for stability on the descent, you could go with a slightly longer ski than normal without issues.
