Intro
The Pagoda 94 is one of the narrower skis in the DPS collection, after the 90 mm model. It's a ski aimed mainly at the European market, where snow conditions vary greatly throughout the winter and the ability to adapt to changing terrain is essential for those who only have the one ski. It has great balance between tip and tail rocker, which while present are not excessive. Excellent edge contact and positive camber underfoot. The build uses eco-friendly recyclable materials: paulownia wood with two layers of carbon and titanal reinforcement beneath the binding mount point only.

On the snow
Finally! The first DPS that we think could be the perfect one-ski quiver for use across the Alps. The adjective that best comes to mind after skiing it is balance: admiral performance in all snow conditions, great float, excellent edge hold in firm snow and minimal chatter in tracked out snow despite its limited heft. It's not a super easy ski and so not recommended for beginners, but for others this could be the ideal tool throughout the season. The shovel features DPS's signature characteristics: easy turn initiation, stable and reliable in harsh conditions. The tail is rock solid when closing the turn, tending to struggle only on very firm terrain which compromises edge precision slightly. Long ascents and technical terrain on the uphill are this skis bread and butter, thanks to their limited weight and excellent torsional rigidity. The single detractor that stops this winning best in class is price, which, as usual, won't suit everyone's pocket.

Lab
Concave along the whole length, not corrected after 10 runs through the tuning machine. Structure perfectly applied and DPS's exclusive Phantom wax. Good edges, 1.8 x 1.8 mm at 89°, base edge 0.91°. Correct finishing but sidewalls a bit rough. Could be skied straight from the shop.

Safety, a culture of doubt

Beyond the basic definition, there’s nothing as variable as snow conditions and the human psyche when under emotional stress. That's why, after purchasing the right self-rescue kit and airbag backpack, it’s paramount you do your research, train, scrutinize your decisions and, if necessary, opt for plan B. And, at least for now, don’t rely on artificial intelligence.

Intro
Products for mountaineers

Once you’ve chosen your skis, boots and bindings, your thoughts then turn to harnesses, crampons, ice axe and helmet, though perhaps not everyone, and not straight away. While it’s true that when starting out, especially for those transitioning from resort skiing who just want to start surfing some pow, the important thing is to get self-rescue equipment. It’s equally true, however, that the sport we love is a combination of two words: skiing and mountaineering.

Split All Mountain
Intro
Boards, boots, and bindings for splitboarding

Materials are evolving, which is increasing the opportunities for pushing the boundaries of mountaineering splitboarding. It’s no longer just about easy tours, a few jumps and a beer. Thanks to innovative new setups and growing knowledge within the community, long ascents and steep terrain no longer intimidate.

2025
Intro
Skimo bindings

They’re probably the element of your setup that’s evolved the most and seen the most crossover between disciplines. Which is why in general lighter bindings have adapted to make allowances for the trend for opting for wider skis, with hybrid drilling patterns and a greater selection of ski brakes. But the aspect that requires most scrutiny is the height difference between the front and rear pins.
