Intro
The years go by but its appeal hasn't diminished, as it's one of the most versatile boots in the Light category and beyond; it can handle touring and freeride skis (and is ubiquitous in the freeride capital of the Alps, Chamonix).
Walking
Not up there with the best in terms of cuff rotation, and by the best we mean those encroaching on the Race category, but it's more than adequate for a Light/Tour boot; the real difference is in the aft motion on the flat or in a dip. The foot is well supported (it feels like you're wearing a custom insole) with just enough room around the muscles in the sole to aid driving without tiring the legs.
Lab
Entry is relatively easy for a boot in this class (especially considering its particularly technical fit), made even more so by the fact you can open one side of the tongue. The BOA dial wraps the foot without creating any pressure points, aided by the well-designed fit. The ski/walk mechanism sits flush with the boot without getting in the way, the buckle strap is easy to adjust with gloves on and the additional power strap holds firm.
Skiing
If it's back among the tested boots years after its launch, the odd upgrade aside, it's because it skis so well, even on wider sticks (up to 100 mm no problem, 110 for good riders), which is why its one of the most popular on the market. Its rear support isn't up for discussion, but the difference with other Light models is its ability to hold the edge and really drive the ski, more similar to an overlap or four-buckle.
