Intro
Alp Tracks is the ultralight series developed by the Swiss manufacturer for light touring. The materials used for building this series are mainly paulownia and carbon, a super lightweight pairing that delivers first-rate performance. The 85, 90 and 95 are all women-specific models, which have two features that differ from the men's versions: the mounting position placed further back to compensate for the differing centers of gravity, and the use of glass fiber, which is more flexible and so more easily deformed by lighter skiers.
On the snow
Calling all lovers of fast-and-light... these are the perfect skis for you. Precise, high performance, light. Reliable companions that are super-fast on the up and superbly nimble on the down in all snow conditions. They're outstanding on the skin track, imperceptibly light on the feet but with optimal edge hold when side hilling and in firm conditions. Exceptional performance on the downhill. Responsive and stable, they perform excellently on short- and medium-radius turns. Best not to overdo it when carving large-radius turns though. These will get you safely back to the trailhead on all snow types. Just be sure to read the terrain correctly and don't overdo the speed. So if you're the type of tourer who likes counting the meters (of vert) on your smartwatch, dancing from crest to crest or accessing remote summits, the Alp Tracks 85 warrants consideration. The perfect partner for days when you want to lead the field.
Lab
Very concave at tip and tail, impossible to flatten after 10 passes through the tuning machine. Unexceptional, average structure applied, not waxed. Good edges, 1.6 x 1.5 mm at 91°, base edge 0.9°. Generally correct edge tuning, with generous sidewall material that can be removed. Requires tuning.
