Intro
This all-new model takes the concepts of the classic RP and C2 construction and combines them into an all-mountain ski. With its patented Split Core construction, an innovative combination of ash and poplar wood, DPS has created a robust ski with a stiff flex. Two sheets of carbon-fiber laminate complete this high-end product, which is light enough to take on short climbs typical of backcountry freeriding. It sports a new-school shape with both tip and tail rocker, but maintains its character as a ski for those who like a more traditional technique.
On the snow
Its versatile nature clearly marks it as a ski for a wide audience with a diverse range of skiing styles and objectives. This is a do-it-all ski to have in your quiver for tackling a wide range of situations which will assure you many memorable days of skiing that will leave you grinning. Its lightweight build means you can mount pin bindings for tackling long ascents, while also having the handling and confidence for technical descents and snow conditions that call for some stiffness. The flex is progressive when arcing wide turns, with a somewhat softer response when exiting tight turns. But expecting perfection across the board is asking too much. It's not a ski for super-high performance or pure aggression, but it's definitely a fun ski for everyday use. There's a wide range of options, and by choosing different lengths, most skiers can find a ski that delivers the performance they're after.
Lab
Concave from tip to tail, nearly flat after 9 runs through the tuning machine. Sub-optimal structure applied, waxed. Good edges, 2.1 x 1.9 mm at 88.9°, base edge 0.7°. Excellent edge finish, needs flattening and structuring.
