Intro
The Agent series is designed for freetouring. It features a carob-wood construction beneath a sheet of carbon fiber for stiffness without adding excess weight, for lightweight skis that can be taken on climbs but will also be fun on the descent. Agent 3 has a modern, monodirectional shape with just the right amount of tip rocker, which works in harmony with the camber at the waist and nearly flat tail. A great ski for everyday freeriding, it can also be used for touring. All in all, it's an enjoyable ski that is as playful as it is reliable.
On the snow
With this ski underfoot, you can do a bit of everything. Precise yet playful, reliable yet versatile, it has most of what you need for new-school freeride touring. The bindings seemed to be set back a bit too far to us, so the ski tended to kick up and spin around the pivot point because of its sidecut. You might want to try mounting the bindings one or two centimeters farther forward. It has an abundant tip that requires a fair amount of forward pressure when starting the turn. At the same time, though, it allows for a more natural posture when floating in deep powder. Solid when landing jumps, and with good tail support without any exaggerated imbalance, this ski calls for both power and good technique. A ski that maintains solid contact on hard terrain, it's great with a pin binding, or you can go with a step-in for resort skiing.
Lab
Convex at tip and tail, nearly flat after 9 runs through the tuning machine. Only finished, not much wax. Decent edges 1.6 x 2 mm at 88°, base edge 1.1°. Not an amazing finish, but correct; edge at tip and tail a bit aggressive.
