K2's Mindbender collection is the brand's interpretation of modern freeride—versatile, powerful skis designed to take on all conditions. On the snow
If this ski could talk, it would say 'come on, let's go have some fun!'. The 106C W is a model that encourages you to let go. Easy, agile, never dull; it enters turns effortlessly, floats well and lets itself be driven without putting up a fight. The twin tip tail and All-Terrain Rocker profile make this a formidable ally for skiers wanting to explore the backcountry. The Spectral Braid carbon fiber construction and aforementioned profile provide stability underfoot and maneuverability at the tip and tail, making this an intuitive, responsive ski. The twin-tip tail is for anyone who likes to play with the terrain, landing switch or trying out some funky lines. Maybe not a ski for straightlining at 100 miles an hour through crust, but it always handles well. Its preferred terrain is snowy forest, endless pillows or an untracked slope where you can unleash your creativity.
Lab
Base almost flat but with a few dents around the waist that were still there after ten runs through the machine. No structure applied but waxed. Good edges 2 x 1.9 mm at 89°, base bevel 0.85°. Uneven finish, different on each ski. Needs tuning but not a bad starting point.
