Intro
The Unlimited range replaced the Strider series several seasons ago, offering a modern freetouring solution that delivers versatility and downhill performance in a lightweight package. The so-called wrapping buckles are innovative and enhance forefoot hold during descents while allowing greater movement when climbing. With a decidedly competitive weight—among the lightest in its category—it's the ideal choice for long alpine tours and demanding backcountry missions.

Walking
Fairly easy to put on, sometimes painful to take off due to the plastic flaps. Not everyone will find this comfortable straight from the box: the sole is very snug, suitable for narrower feet, and the low instep puts pressure on the midfoot bones. Walking range of motion is excellent, among the best in the Free category, with good sensitivity and great for long ascents. Touring mode adjustments are good, from the buckle park position on cuff catchplates to the innovative shell closure.
Lab
Four buckles, three of which are micro adjustable and one compensation buckle with a cable across the front of the shell increase mobility. Easy-to-use ski/walk lever with non-return spring, booster is very light but not very elastic. GripWalk sole with solidly constructed midsole reinforcements. Tough, heat-moldable liner with cork padding, rear gusset and height-adjustable tongue.
Skiing
Very precise in the lower portion, but more flex in the upper section, which is probably down to the three different plastic hardnesses used in the shell and cuff. Rear support is pretty good, decent for driving deep turns in powder. Front flex is a different story: it’s not very progressive and the cuff sits too low on the shin to provide adequate support. It skis well at medium-low speeds, without the energies a pro rider would impart, and ideally not with overly wide skis. Ideal choice for guides and instructors who ski with clients and need something versatile.
