Intro
Pagoda Tour is DSP's lightweight skimo line. It has a really competitive weight-to-width ratio, which is great for getting the most out of this all-terrain ski in true American style. It's a ski for those who like going from resort moguls and groomers to fresh powder. The construction has evolved from the previous iteration, making this the second generation of the Pagoda Tour. A hybrid wood/foam core works in harmony with the new sidewalls made from 63% microalgae—bio resin with excellent damping properties and bend strength.
On the snow
Super light underfoot, it immediately feels nimble and easy to turn, making this a good ski for anyone new to the world of freetouring or old-school ski mountaineers looking for a ski with a wider waist. It's almost mandatory to use a pin binding to chew up tons of ascent on a wide range of outing types. It's not great at really high speeds and isn't suited for pro-level performance, but it holds its own on any terrain and is always reliable at more moderate speeds. The tip rocker enables you to float in powder and helps guide the ski into the turns, but it tends to slap on hard terrain and packed snow. It gives support to less skilled skiers or those with less physical fitness, enabling you to ski safely on all types of skimo itineraries, so long as you slow down on hard, steep terrain. Not recommended for heavy, powerful skiers, it's a good ski for women or for lighter men.
