    Intro
At first glance, there might not seem to be much difference between the 108Ti and the 106C. In actual fact, though, the two couldn't be more different. The new Mindbender 106C brings greater maneuverability to the line's typical tenacity thanks to its titanium-free construction and reduced weight. This makes it a versatile ski for both resort freeride and backcountry freestyle. To increase its rigidity without adding strips of metal, K2 has patented its Spectral Braid technology, which uses denser multi-axial fiber at the ski's waist and less dense fiber at tip and tail. This gives the ski an ideal amount of torsional rigidity.

    On the snow
Once you point them down the hill, you just need to manage to stay on top of the skis and give them some flex, and away you go. They'll plow through whatever comes their way, absorbing holes and chop like nobody's business, but they need a powerful, talented skier. They've got less pop than their titanium siblings, but they're still responsive and, with a sidecut radius of less than 20 meters, they'll meet the needs of a greater number of skiers. They're not made for zipping down the slope willy-nilly, but like to be controlled with confidence. At slower speeds, and in transition in tighter turns, they can get a bit cumbersome, but when you step on the gas, they stick to the terrain like glue and are rock-solid when landing big jumps. They're in their element in big-mountain skiing or resort freeriding with the odd, short climb to find a nice long descent. And they hold their own in difficult, changing snow conditions.

    Lab
Slightly concave at the tip, but immediately fixed. Only roughened, waxed. Not much edge, 1.8 x 1.2 mm (one is almost completely gone) at 88.8°, base edge 1.4°. Rough finish (rust) but correct, needs tuning.
