Intro
Almost 200 g lighter than the top-of-the-line Pro model, this is K2's intermediate-level touring boot (there's also a Dispatch with a cuff in TPU). So what's the difference (other than the weight)? The liner doesn't have a BOA dial and the plastics are softer (stated flex is 120 against the Pro's 130). Otherwise it's identical, including the materials (Pebax cuff and shell). It walks well and is progressive and easygoing on the downhill; a smart choice for descent-oriented touring.

Safety, a culture of doubt
Beyond the basic definition, there’s nothing as variable as snow conditions and the human psyche when under emotional stress. That's why, after purchasing the right self-rescue kit and airbag backpack, it’s paramount you do your research, train, scrutinize your decisions and, if necessary, opt for plan B. And, at least for now, don’t rely on artificial intelligence.
