Intro
This new project is the narrowest model of Majesty's freeride line, which features titanal construction and the poplar/ash core typical of a downhill thoroughbred. Its combination of weight and dimensions makes it a hybrid crossover ski about halfway between resort freeride and freetouring, which is the most frequent use case for this category. Majesty's engineering flair also comes to the fore in this new model, especially in the proprietary 4R Sidecut and 4R Rocker technologies, which use four different geometries and profiles in these sections of the ski.
On the snow
The responsiveness of this ski is one of the first things that jumps out in the first few turns. Its stiff flex, especially towards the waist, brings out its hard-charging character right away. It weighs slightly more than you would expect for its size, which makes this a ski more suited to resort freeride and brief climbs around the lifts than for doing lots of long ascents. A reliable ski on hardpack and challenging terrain, its versatile dimensions make it a good option for a wide range of skiers, though it does require strength and good technique. It has a well-balanced profile and stable nose at high speeds, and it won't oversteer on aggressive snow. But its flat tail, which give you support when leaning back, tends to catch on crust and in tight turns. A pin binding doesn't make much sense on this ski and would make its use case overly specific. A modern step-in binding would be best, as it's better suited to a more aggressive style.
