Intro
Grab a Dancer and you'll be waltzing through turns and arcs of any type, playing and laughing like a kid who's just discovered the wonder of skiing. A poplar core with two titanal layers that weighs in at just over 2 kg a ski clearly means the main focus is on the down. With its virtually flat tail and minimal tip rocker, this is a classic directional alpine ski. The Swiss manufacturer is implementing major changes to reduce its emission, including the use of bio-based resins, locally sourced and ideally recycled materials, as well as a factory that uses 100% recycled energy.
On the snow
It has a classical shaping but decidedly modern performance, with a progressive and well-balanced structure and nearly flat tail that provides good support when exiting turns and impressive pop. Skiability is the order of the day: they're not super light but very elastic, delivering intuitive turn initiation and reliable hold on hardpack and at high speeds. This is a new-school ski because it lends itself to a freer, less centered style that allows differential weight distribution between the two skis to create forces that enhance style and flow. Decent float in powder, fantastic in humid snow and spring conditions, it's a ski that will satisfy both the average skier and professionals, who can use it for lessons and guided outings on piste. It's maneuverable and fun especially when linking short- and medium-radius turns: can be mounted with a pin binding for medium-length tours, although it's more suited to a heftier binding, mainly resort use and short ascents.
Lab
Slightly concave at tip and tail. Generally very good and almost perfect after ten passes through the tuning machine. No structure or wax. Good edges, 1.5 x 2.1 mm at 90°, base edge 1°. Rough preparation of edge and base, completely detuned at tip and tail. Can be used straight from the factory by the average skier.
