Intro
A ski for pure resort freeride. It features a poplar and PU core with titanal reinforcements to maximize downhill performance with little regard for weight. Apart from a few small variations to the graphics, the ski build is the same as previous seasons with a rigid yet progressive flex enhanced by its alpine camber and tempered by the moderate tip and tail rocker. It's a tool for the modern freerider who focuses on powder lines, those who favor big-mountain style straight-line descents at full-throttle, and physically strong skier who can withstand a full day exerting the forces necessary to deform these demanding skis.
On the snow
It takes just a few turns to feel this ski's significant heft underfoot. But to make full use of its mechanical properties and responsiveness you'll need to be physically strong and drive it fast. Physically weak skiers who like slower speeds look elsewhere. Here the rocker serves only to make the ski's handling more intuitive and docile, but in particular the tail is raised to avoid catching when exiting turns. Excellent float in deep powder, stays up with a standard stance without having to resort to leaning back. Super stable skis for charging big-mountain lines that cut through wind crust like butter and that more than hold their own in firm conditions providing you exert precise foot control. They absorb rough snow conditions reassuringly well, but caution is required when changing rhythm: it takes strong legs to stop them when they're being drive at full throttle.
Lab
Convex throughout the length, especially at tip and tail, improved after 10 runs through the tuning machine. Complete absence of base structure and wax. Decent edges 1.7 x 1.7 mm at 89°, poor base edge at 0.5°. Decent base and edge finishing, tail edge needs some work but easily fixed.
