Corbet's 110 SR UL

TESTED 2023
Loads of rocker to float like crazy in the deep pow it loves so much. But that's also a limitation of this highly specific ski
In brief
Suitable for
big climbs on powder, American style, deep snow
Not suitable for
an everyday ski
Also suitable for
young freeriders concerned about weight

    Intro
If there's one specific ski, it's the Corbet's 110. Not so much in terms of users — it's good for so many different types — but more in terms of terrain and goals. 110 millimeters at the waist and a weight of just over a kilogram and a half for the 187-centimeter ski tell you it's weight-to-power ratio is definitely aimed at the climb. And the goal is deep pow days when you'll also be doing a lot of climbing.

    On the snow
There's no better tool for your kit when you've got skins on deep, fresh powder. You can easily climb more than 1000 meters, so long as the snow is soft. With this structure, caution is required on harder snow. You immediately note the tons of rocker, which makes it good for open turns and slopes where you can let the ski go and have some fun. In tight spaces and on harder terrain, though, you start to miss the edge contact, which becomes evident even in wider turns, where the edges tend to bite late. It could be the right choice for young freeriders looking to do some more backcountry, or as a highly specific ski for those unforgettable outings.

    Lab
Concave throughout the base, an attempted structure, not waxed. Edges 1.8 x 1.7 mm (not a lot for the segment) at 89.3°, irregular base edge, from zero to 1°. Too much edge and rusty, needs tuning.
