In words

Intro
Completely redesigned and rebuilt, the Impulse Ti series really hits the mark. Power and stability are the name of the game, amply provided by a robust layer of titanal. The women's version is available in two widths: 104 and 98 mm. The latter is easygoing and versatile, with enough underfoot support to charge over technical terrain, but also perfect for chill freeride days with friends. It has the classic Impulse Ti profile with rockered tip and tail and traditional camber. An all-mountain ski ready to explore all kinds of terrain.

On the snow
Fun and playful, yet precise and responsive when it counts, as soon as you put it on it feels instantly familiar. Intuitive and easy to handle, it follows your lead like a faithful friend. It floats well on deep snow, and the soft tail immediately makes you want to throw a few tricks. It holds up well on all kinds of snow and its lightning-fast responsiveness lets you push it to the limit. Super agile as well as incredibly stable thanks to its flat-top construction and full ABS sidewalls that guarantee smooth, precise turns and torsional rigidity. A truly versatile piece of equipment that would work as a one-ski quiver for skiers looking for a fun, responsive ski.

Concave at the tip, almost flat after 10 passes through the machine. Good edges 1.8 x 1.7 mm at 89.1°, base edge 1°. Overall rough finish with patches of rust, but ok. Tuning required.

Safety, a culture of doubt

Beyond the basic definition, there’s nothing as variable as snow conditions and the human psyche when under emotional stress. That's why, after purchasing the right self-rescue kit and airbag backpack, it’s paramount you do your research, train, scrutinize your decisions and, if necessary, opt for plan B. And, at least for now, don’t rely on artificial intelligence.

Intro
Products for mountaineers

Once you’ve chosen your skis, boots and bindings, your thoughts then turn to harnesses, crampons, ice axe and helmet, though perhaps not everyone, and not straight away. While it’s true that when starting out, especially for those transitioning from resort skiing who just want to start surfing some pow, the important thing is to get self-rescue equipment. It’s equally true, however, that the sport we love is a combination of two words: skiing and mountaineering.
