Intro
During its over ten years on the market, the Enforcer has undergone so many upgrades to its shape and build that all that's left in common with the original model is the name and shared aims. This year, the waist dimensions have been tweaked slightly. The radius is basically the same but the tip and tail have been widened by 2 mm to increase surface area. The construction has also been upgraded and is now lighter and performs better, with a dual wood core encased in two anti-torsion titanal layers and separated by a new elastomer named Pulse Core.
On the snow
This do-it-all- tool's attractive new design was immediately appreciated by our testers. Once unleashed on the snow they perform like a steam train that sticks to the rails like glue throughout the entire arc of the turn. They're heavy underfoot, so not suited to novices, and take deft technique and some sizeable thigh muscles to dominate on the snow. These are powerful rip sticks that are not for the faint-hearted and punish sloppy technique. They're ideal for big lines, dropping cliffs, and sparse trees. The nose absorbs chop and wind crust with aplomb. The original mount point is central and sometimes requires the rider to adapt to it. The raised shovel tends to oversteer in challenging snow conditions - a factor that'll help intermediate skiers but which pros will consider a limitation. A resort freeride model. Pin bindings only for the truly ambitious. For everyone else we recommend a hybrid step-in or durable binding.
