Intro
This ski is part of what Dynastar calls its "free-touring" line, alongside its 88 mm sibling and the M-Grand Mont, which is very similar to this 82 mm ski, but designed for a more fitness use case. It's a very versatile, solid ski focused on content and on handling, more than on weight. It's great for demanding, old-school skiers with their own, innate confidence on steeps.
On the snow
Easy entering the turn if you have a touch of old-school skill. It offers incredible carving for a lightweight ski (although it's not super light), supported by those solid sidewalls at the waist. It takes you where you want to do if you stay on top of it, but it changes radius in a heartbeat given that handling and versatility are its hidden talents. Stiff but forgiving at tip and tail, it flows with the terrain and is more versatile that you might expect from an 82 mm ski. The tips hold their own in fresh snow, and the tails hold up well against a little extra weight. On steeps and in gorges, the ski gives you tons of confidence. An old-school ski that's not for everyone, the solidity it conveys makes it easy to ride. It does what's expected of it, and it's well ahead of the rest of its super-thin class.
