    Intro
The iconic Lupo line is now just a distant memory. From this season it will be completely replaced by the Cabrio, which will have one line with walk mechanism, and one without. There's a discernible reduction in weight, which is more noticeable in the Lite version, while the tongue is now fixed. The new ski/walk system lets you use interchangeable inserts to adjust the forward lean and the stiffness of the flex.

    Walking
Easy to put on, the fit is on the large side—at least a half-size bigger than other brands: suited to long, narrow feet. The only bum note compared to the Lupo is the tongue, which you can no longer remove when walking. It's more user friendly for those who don't like to waste time fiddling with their equipment, but it means less range of motion. The weight is perfect for clocking up big verticals, but you can feel resistance from the cuff.

    Lab
The three buckles (with lock to prevent them from opening unexpectedly) are difficult to operate if you crank the 45° instep buckle tight. The bi-injected tongue aids walking, while a curved ski/walk mechanism easily adapts to the different canting settings. Cuff rotation is sufficient, but there is a little friction. It has a Dalbello liner and tongue made from recycled material, with a more defined shape around the forefoot and instep.

    Skiing
On the downhill this is the most precise three-piece boot when finding an edge, with no interference from the walk mechanism between the cuff and shell. It inspires the same level of confidence as the stiffest of pure freeride boots. Ideal for anyone looking for performance when skiing big-mountain lines, the power transmission is excellent, absorbing the vibrations created by difficult terrain, and letting you ski alpine lines at high altitude. The top buckle on the cuff closes well with a good amount of progression, but the power strap is too thin. It's versatile and as light as you need it to be, but don't go hard with stiff skis over 110 mm wide. Great for skiers from an intermediate level and up, beginners should look for a softer flex.
