Intro
A thoroughbred race model, starting with the distinctive, minimalist, tightly-clustered arrangement of the three heel attachment screws. The release value of the rear spring is set by the heelpiece body itself which houses the two pins (no U-spring). By contrast, the toe is a very traditional affair, with a drilling pattern with very wide rearward holes—much wider than you’d need with narrow skis—but the torsional rigidity of a full pin binding comes from the toepiece. The very pronounced lever makes it easier to operate the jaws, which feature the usual four-spring arrangement.
Fit
Easy entry and snappy closure of the toe, which has one of the lowest stand heights out there—always a boon when skiing off-piste—but which also serves to compensate, albeit in part, for the very low stand height of the two rear pins too. As with all race bindings, fore-aft drop delta must be checked and corrected if necessary. The crampon slot is removable—reducing weight significantly—and is among the most reliable in the race world.
