Intro
Part of Dynafit's extensive family of race skis, the DNA sits halfway between the DNA Pro for elite athletes, and the more easygoing Mezzalama. From the former it takes its structure, though a touch more forgiving; from the latter its turn radius and skiability. The result is a versatile, user-friendly model for intermediates and up, as well as good athletes who aren't quite as strong, as demonstrated by the 153 cm option for women and children.
On the snow
As forgiving as a race ski realistically can be, the DNA is more so than its Pro sibling, and the difference between the two is immediately obvious. Turn initiation is easier, it rolls smoothly from edge to edge, and shrugs off a little hesitation on the part of the skier. The DNA is a little less stiff and despite the long rocker, designed for more versatile use, we preferred it on piste or even terrain where it's less prone to chatter and more manageable than the Pro, while on chop, crud or moguls it's a little unsteady. This doesn't affect its behavior in good snow conditions, even in the backcountry, as its powder score shows. An easy, versatile, well-balanced option for anyone looking for a straightforward ski for training or on-piste races.
