Intro
Part of Elan's lightest collection, available in 150 cm and 160 cm, the Lynx 65 isn't just for racing, but a broader fitness touring-style approach, reflecting the Slovenian brand's long tradition in the sport. While it's lost the distinctive swallow tail, it hasn't undergone any other significant changes—save for an updated graphic.
On the snow
This ski prefers a lighter touch and less heavy skiers still working on their technique, who will find it soft, easy to handle, and occasionally playful. It could be a good choice for intermediates and anyone thinking of entering the world of racing looking for a versatile ski, or simply to rediscover the joys of skiing tight turns (and maybe a few inches of fresh pow), as well as competing. It's not immediately intuitive, you need to take it out for a couple of runs to get a handle on it, but then you'll find it smooth and playful, easily initiating turns, holding the edge and releasing them just as easily. This ski is more at home on soft and choppy snow, with a soft flex that encourages a centered stance as you can't rely on the tip and tail. On hard terrain if you open out into wider turns and put your foot on the gas the feeling changes and the relaxed skidded turns it does so well on soft, tight terrain become instability and chatter, especially with aggressive technique. Handle with care.
