Intro
With a build inspired by the US manufacturer’s acclaimed Marauder model, this is a board designed to be both lightweight and responsive, with a widened nose and a slightly tapered tail. With a spec that remains unchanged from last season, the project’s goal was to create a board offering the perfect balance between responsiveness and lightness. Thanks to the premium-quality materials used in the build and the inclusion of Karakoram UltraClip clips to join the two halves of the board firmly together, the riding sensation is very similar to a solid board.

On the snow
It’s an aggressive board which delivers immediate energy return courtesy of its Paulownia TourLight Core encased in triaxial fiberglass and carbon stringers. The pronounced nose helps provide great float and aids transitions and kick turns during ascents. The Carbon Infused 5500 sintered base is super hard, fast and extremely durable. A true thoroughbred do-it-all board: whether tackling a super-challenging line, surfing powder or busting crust, it stays rock solid and reliable. Steep, technical, big mountain: the choice is yours. It will never let you down, as long as you know how to ride it and find the right length, for jump turns and speedy edge changes. And what about the flex? I hear you ask. It errs towards stiff to maintain the right degree of responsiveness. A gnarly board for gnarly riders on backcountry terrain. Only the best for the best.

Safety, a culture of doubt

Beyond the basic definition, there’s nothing as variable as snow conditions and the human psyche when under emotional stress. That's why, after purchasing the right self-rescue kit and airbag backpack, it’s paramount you do your research, train, scrutinize your decisions and, if necessary, opt for plan B. And, at least for now, don’t rely on artificial intelligence.

Intro
Products for mountaineers

Once you’ve chosen your skis, boots and bindings, your thoughts then turn to harnesses, crampons, ice axe and helmet, though perhaps not everyone, and not straight away. While it’s true that when starting out, especially for those transitioning from resort skiing who just want to start surfing some pow, the important thing is to get self-rescue equipment. It’s equally true, however, that the sport we love is a combination of two words: skiing and mountaineering.
