Intro
This is a high-end split that stays very faithful to the original version. It features an Ultra Core core crafted from FSC-certified wood and carbon inserts to ensure lightness and rigidity. The directional rocker profile ensures good float in powder and stability in firm conditions, while the 3D Contour Base 3.0 technology ensures fluid edge to edge transitions. The icing on the cake is the Karakoram Ultra Clips 3C closure system which ensures swift and secure connection of the board halves.

On the snow
This is a split boasting an already tried-and-tested reputation that excels in all conditions. In deep snow, the Directional Rocker profile and 3D technology deliver exceptional float and maneuverability, conferring that smooth, effortless surfing sensation that all boarders seek. In hard snow conditions, the carbon inserts and ultra-lightweight core provide super-swift response and impressive stability, maintaining a super-solid base even when charging hard. The Traction Tech 3.0 profile increases the effective edge length which inspires confidence when driving the edges. Add to this exceptional lightness and Ultra 3C Clip system and we have a truly complete product. A real gem of a board... just a pity about the slightly above-average price tag.

Safety, a culture of doubt

Beyond the basic definition, there’s nothing as variable as snow conditions and the human psyche when under emotional stress. That's why, after purchasing the right self-rescue kit and airbag backpack, it’s paramount you do your research, train, scrutinize your decisions and, if necessary, opt for plan B. And, at least for now, don’t rely on artificial intelligence.

Intro
Products for mountaineers

Once you’ve chosen your skis, boots and bindings, your thoughts then turn to harnesses, crampons, ice axe and helmet, though perhaps not everyone, and not straight away. While it’s true that when starting out, especially for those transitioning from resort skiing who just want to start surfing some pow, the important thing is to get self-rescue equipment. It’s equally true, however, that the sport we love is a combination of two words: skiing and mountaineering.
