Intro
The Trek is Salomon's boot designed for advanced splitboarding, and was created for expert users seeking a rigid boot that delivers just the right degree of support in any situation.
On the snow
Just one glance and it’s clear this is a product developed first and foremost with performance in mind: sleek volumes, rigid flex, quality materials, and a clean design. The fit can be quite finicky. It can be challenging to fine tune the feel, despite the boot having a high-quality SenseFit liner, anatomical Ortholite footbed, versatile adjustment via the combined traditional lacing system and Boa Hike & Ride and the articulation of the upper shell. However the ability to selectively adjust the fit does transform into greater stability when hiking and good responsiveness during the descent. The MTN Goat sole with Contagrip W technology provides excellent grip, and thanks to the well-designed tread pattern, guarantees good stability even when hiking with the board slung over a shoulder. Overall, this is a product for riders with good technique who are seeking a precise, responsive boot. For beginners, a softer, more comfort-oriented model would be a better choice.
