Intro
The most recent addition to the Union collection is their top-of-the-line model; lighter and with a stiffer highback than the standard version.
On the snow
Designed for next-level performance and use on challenging terrain where the precision and responsiveness of the materials is of vital importance. the Charger Pro was developed with pro rider Forrest Shearer, who uses it daily out on the mountain. It's shed a few grams by reducing the thickness of its construction and by using forged carbon combined with Duraflex CB Nylon, making it stiffer and more robust than the plastic version. The ratchets have also been made more minimalist, but remain effective. The fit is more supportive and closer to a traditional snowboard binding. The concerns we raised last year regarding the highback lock remain, as it still has a tendency to open. This model uses the same transition system as the Charger; the solid heel riser (which the vast majority of brands haven't made great strides on) works well, though it only has one height. As with the Voile, the interface is reversed; the touring bracket has fixed pins that the bushings on the binding slide onto.
