Intro
The Charger is Union's mid-range splitboard binding. It uses a classic pin-based system and occupies the middle ground between the Explorer and Charger Pro.
On the snow
Probably one of the brand's biggest sellers, it's universally known for its versatility and ease of use, once the system has been properly set up. The plastic baseplate is stiff and robust, sacrificing a little sensitivity and fit for better durability. Its straps are thin yet functional, adjusted using a sturdy ratchet buckle. The highback is fairly soft, but the locking mechanism could be improved, as it's very sensitive to changes in stance. Recommended for stiff boards and riders who know their stuff, it could also suit those who want to progress and try out more technical descents without compromising on comfort and fun on the downhill.
