Kohla recommends this as a more grippy alternative to the Alpinist Pro for touring. And in fact, the steeper track freeriders tend to set requires more grip coupled with the lighter weight of a 100% mohair skin will be appreciated under fatter, heavier skis. It's one of the very few mohair skins designed for freeride. Potentially a smart choice for freeriders accustomed to mixed-blend or 100% nylon skins, as, given that they’re generally skinning fewer miles than classic ski tourers, the skins will last correspondingly longer.
