Andrea "Cis" (pronounced "cheese") Cismondi is often zipping down gorges in the Maritime Alps, where he's one of the leading proponents of backcountry skimo. A former competitive alpine skier and trainer, today he runs Rifugio Valasco in the Maritime Alps in an old Savoy hunting lodge. He's made a decisive shift to freeriding, skiing in the old-school style with a dash of new-school flair.
