A world that continues to evolve

After last season's debuting of the new version of the Maestrale, 24/25 sees the release of another revamped classic: the Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro. No-one can say that major innovations are missing: quality over quantity. And there's no shortage of crossover products either, such as the new Dynafit Ridge Pro, which walks like a Light, but skis like a touring boot.

    Boot of the year

    Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro

Enhanced hiking performance, ankle range of motion, a more streamlined shape with ribbing where necessary, a roomier fit than its predecessor to improve comfort, and a more progressive, smoother flex. Other than that it remains a four-buckle overlap with a clear alpine pedigree, but now more in tune with the latest trends in the touring world. A boot that’ll please most and disappoint few.

    Pro's choice

    Scarpa 4-Quattro XT

It's still the most aggressive in its class which can hold its own against a fair few freeride boots in terms of flex and performance: a very snug four buckle boot, with hugs terrain and features a very low ramp angle. That’s about as pro as you get...

    People's Choice

    Dynafit Ridge Pro

Significant improvement in walk mode and on the down, and a few grams shaved off the weight. Naturally this is when compared to the model available till 22/23, because this year’s model is unchanged. Problem free... enough said!

    Smart Choice

    Scarpa Maestrale

New for 24/25, this boot combines the mobility of a Light with surprising downhill performance—even in challenging terrain—and the practicality and convenience expected from today’s equipment. Its strength is its floating tongue, which makes resistance from the plastic imperceptible.
