Lightness and precision
If choosing the skis was tough, deciding between the different boots proved similarly challenging. Because the world of boots is rapidly and radically changing, and has yet to come to maturity. Which is why it’s even more important to read each product’s datasheet carefully.
Boot of the year
Just like the skis, what won us over with this boot is its new approach to lightness, where weight is still important, but so too are practicality and comfort. It’s the easiest to get in and out of, the best on the skin track, loses a little on downhill performance and technical features of the fit, yet is still above average in all these aspects. And, more significantly, it makes the lightweight world a little easier.
Pro's choice
In terms of technical features and downhill performance, this ran a hotly fought battle with the Tecnica Zero G Peak, which is also excellent and sports a slightly more forgiving fit. But that’s exactly why you choose the F1, though, for its super-snug fit that makes you feel one with your binding and ski.
People's choice
Having the F1s in your garage is always handy, and the F1 SE, with its slightly more forgiving (and above all eco-friendly) plastics, and the absence of the second cuff strap, add a smoothness to the many positive aspects of this evergreen flagship model, including the also the option to work on the shell. Slightly less Light, with reduced walkability, but really fun to ski. Meaning it’s easier going than the F1, albeit still a superior choice, but widens the options for newcomers to the world of
Smart choice
What else would it be? It’s a wise choice because it’s lightweight, skis as well as the F1 XT (even better in certain aspects, when driving the edges for example), whilst also offering a more forgiving fit. The best of the best.
