Intro
Salomon’s Taka 2.0 is designed for advanced freeride-oriented riders seeking a specific product for epic backcountry missions which is light and easy to maneuver on the ski track and enhanced responsiveness in fresh powder. The Powder Camber is designed to deliver an optimum blend of power, agility, and float. The tapered directional profile and wider rockered nose mean it’s super easy to handle. It’s crafted from partially recycled materials to reduce its environmental impact. Like its sister board the Highpath, it is fitted with Plum hooks.
On the snow
This is definitely a board for deep pow and memorable days—when it’s laying so deep you have to be careful not to suffocate. It expresses its full potential on the deepest of powder days: the setback and rearward camber, combined with the progressive flex are all designed to deliver the maximum float possible whilst still guaranteeing good control. However edge grip does tend to struggle in technical, more challenging terrain, and overall stability is not always assured, but that’s really a given from a deck so explicitly designed for powder. This is no daily driver perhaps, considering the typical snow conditions found in our alps, especially in recent years, but certainly one to consider if you’ve booked your flight to Japan!
