«The race binding is, in every respect, a work of art, where the pursuit of perfection is fundamental to its creation.»
Even the latest manufacturers have added ski brakes to their race models, as race regulations now require. Some have redesigned the binding’s brake housing (almost always the heel), while others have added an element without radically altering the design, with the option to remove it when not needed. However, attempts have always been made to make the operation automatic or more functional, for instance by incorporating its action into the heel riser. To provide that all-important marginal gain, including for the new, super-fast Olympic formats.
