Finally some support: the future is in the compounds

Up to not long ago, women’s boots were considered soft and insubstantial. This was because the focus was on warmth and comfort (think pink and fluffy), rather than performance.
Finally, nearly a quarter century into the new millennium, the brands have woken up to the fact that women don’t just want warm feet, they’re looking for something with enough support when driving their skis hard. The 4-Quattro XT was the boot that started it all (despite the fact that its volume isn’t suitable for all), to which other models have been added for the 2024 season that meet the needs of skiers who will make you eat their powder, and aren’t necessarily alpha males. There’s the Scarpa Gea RS, a mix of comfort and performance; the Dynafit Radical Pro W, which wins praise for its functional Hoji Lock among other things; and the Zero G Peak W which despite its minimalism performs in ascent and doesn’t disappoint in descent. The future is in the plastics, which don’t necessarily have to be pink.
