Three awards, three styles
The awards for the Lady category are a little different; no Choice award, but three Ski of the Year prizes, one for each category. Obviously they are rather different from each other, but between them they can take on anything from speedy ascents to gnarly descents.
Ski of the year light
Not the lightest ski in the range. But this model makes you want to get out there, and often. The ideal companion for tourers looking for a good, solid ski; one that won’t let you down in ascent or in descent. Agile when necessary, stable when it counts, this ski handles with ease, rewarding smooth technique.
Ski of the year tour
Let’s get one thing straight, this isn’t a ski for everyone. But if you’ve got strong legs, this is one rewarding ski. When you take it out on its preferred terrain—steep, technical, and challenging—it reveals its strong character. Just light enough to enjoy skinning up the hill, but solid underfoot, instilling confidence and precision with every turn.
Ski of the year free
When Silvia Moser says that “you can shred like a mofo” on this ski, you know right away what you’re dealing with. Powerful, stable, with an insatiable appetite for speed and dynamic turns, it has the soul of a tough freeride model, but the precision of a carving ski. A special mention goes to the K2 Mindbender 106. A little more forgiving, it’s responsive and agile—fun for improving freeriders.
