Intro

A classic pole for classic touring; it's intuitive and easy to use. The ease with which you can adjust the straps is particularly useful out on the mountain, while the burlier-than-average diameter provides extra protection against knocks and bumps. The basket isn't articulated and is also pretty stiff, though not so much as to mean the tip can't get purchase on steep, firm slopes. We tested the 110–140 length, but there's also a shorter 95–125 version (and short two-piece poles aren't easy to find).
