Intro

There is a carbon model, which has a 14-millimeter shaft in place of this 16-mm aluminum shaft. This two-piece, adjustable model weighs a few grams more, but it's still a high-performance pole for high-speed mountaineering. Two features of note are its nice foam grip (like the race model) and round powder basket. It also has a long section below the basket (which articulates well on all axes without the annoying vibration some similar systems) to guard against mistakes in poling. Its traditional wrist strap is quick-release with a lift-up clipping mechanism.
